Cass Lake is located in North Central Minnesota, Midway between Duluth and Grand Forks along US Highway 2.    This area is the headquarters of the Chippewa National Forest and has a large amount of natural forest land with biking and hiking trails throughout.   We have one of the largest populations of Bald Eagles in the US, and it is common to see them soaring high above you.

Cass Lake is the largest lake in a chain of lakes connected by the Mississippi River.  More than 40 square Miles of accessible waters await you.  We are only 40 miles from Lake Itasca where the mighty Mississippi begins its journey to the Gulf of Mexico.   The headwaters of the great river area a short drive away and we recommend you spend a day at Itasca State park where you can wade across the river and enjoy a picnic or hike around the groves of tall pines.

The Cass Lake chain offers excellent fishing all year round.   While the lakes are best known for Muskie and Walleye, there are many other species to be caught.   Fishing season opens Mid-May and runs through the end of the year.

There are many hiking trails and paved biking trails that offer breathtaking views for miles.  Many Golf courses and two casinos are within a 30 minute drive.   Restaurants, Churches, Bait, Fuel, Marina,  Movie theater and lots of unique shopping are all within two miles of Highland Inn Seasonal Park.

Spring, Summer and Fall weather are all pleasant.   Summertime will see daytime highs into the low 80s and nighttime lows are in the 60s.   Spring and Fall are slightly cooler but still very nice.   The days begin early and end late in May, June, July and August so you can be an early bird or sleep in and still have plenty of daylight to do what you want to.
